Hey, finally I come back to write a new post about 1940's fashion. For the second time it deals with a wedding I was invited, and as always, the idea for an outfit turned up from old photos found on the web. (You can find the links to shops and websites at the end of the post)

Heilà, finalmente torno a scrivere sul blog e a parlarvi un po' di moda anni 40. Per la seconda volta si tratta di un outfit per un matrimonio a cui ho avuto il piacere di essere invitata, e come sempre tutto è partito da alcune vecchie foto originali dell'epoca trovate sul web. My name is Elva Kreko. I was born on 27 july 92 in Durazzo (Albania); I'm studing linguistic and cultural communication at Univesity in Milan. In 2003 I reached my father in Italy with the rest of my family, moving here definitively. I'm interested in art since I was a child and growing up this interest has became love. I also love painting and fashion, my dream is to turn this passion in my job!

Mi chiamo Elva Kreko. Sono nata il 27 Luglio ‘92 a Durazzo, in Albania; attualmente studio mediazione linguistica e culturale all'Università degli Studi di Milano. Nel 2003 ho raggiunto mio padre in Italia con il resto della mia famiglia, trasferendomi definitivamente in Italia.
Sin da piccola nutro un grande interesse per l'arte e crescendo, questo interesse si trasforma in amore. Amo la pittura e la moda, e sogno di trasformare questa passione nel mio lavoro.

Embrace your Uniqueness! - Interview with Alessia (aka Italian Flapper)

Hello everyone, are you surprised to find a pic not mine?

So, with this post different than usual, I inaugurate a new series: As you probably alredy understand it's  all about interviews with other girls that, like me, decided to switch to a vintage style, in particular for any decade there will be an interview, until the 1950's, plus one “bonus” interview, but this will be explained later ...
This idea came in my mind during one of those thoughtful nights, you know, and I immediately put it into practice: the purpose is making known the vintage style comprehensively involving other girls; this because I really think it's interesting to know other story besides mine, showing all aspects of the vintage community in Italy.
As I always say when I'm asked if it's difficult to adopt such a particular style, there are no rules and everyone can express themselves on their own way. So, let's begin knowing Alessia and her 1920s inspired style.

Ciao a tutti, sorpresi di non aver trovato come al solito una mia foto?

Dunque, con questo post diverso dal solito inauguro una nuova “serie”: Come avrete già immaginato si tratterà di interviste ad altre ragazze che, come me, hanno deciso di adottare uno stile vintage, in particolare ci sarà un intervista per decennio, fino agli anni 50, più una “bonus”, ma di questo ci occuperemo più avanti...
L'idea mi è venuta in una di quelle notti in cui più che dormire si sta nel letto a pensare e mi sono subito attivata per concretizzarla: l'intento è quello di far conoscere in modo più completo lo stile vintage coinvolgendo anche altre ragazze, poiché credo fortemente che sia interessante scoprire altre storie oltre alla mia, mostrando tutte le sfaccettature della vintage community in Italia.
Come dico sempre quando mi capita che mi venga chiesto se sia difficile seguire uno stile così particolare, non esistono regole e il bello è che ognuno può esprimere se stesso a suo modo. cominciamo quindi subito a conoscere Alessia, e il suo stile di ispirazione anni 20.

A proposito di vintage - About vintage

So even this year, specially here in the north of Italy, cold has arrived, but I'm not disappointed at all! I hear often that there are two kind of people, summer people and winter people, well, if it's true I definitely belong to the second category: I love colors of the cold months, winter fashion and the holiday season, maybe because I was born in autumn?
If I think about winter the first garment that comes in my mind is coat, a good wool coat to worm in...

E così anche quest'anno, soprattutto qui al nord Italia, è arrivato il freddo, ma a me non dispiace affatto! Sento dire spesso che esistono due tipi di persone, le persone estive e le persone invernali, beh, se fosse vero io faccio decisamente parte della seconda categoria: amo i colori dei mesi freddi, la moda invernale e il periodo delle feste, sarà perchè sono nata in autunno?
Se penso all'inverno il primo capo di vestiario che mi viene in mente è il cappotto, un bel cappotto di lana in cui scaldarsi...

Ahoy! - Another day, another contest

Today I'm going to write again about a pin up/vintage theme contest, the “Miss Motorcity 2016” I recently joined. Told you I would get into this kind of competition! Furthermore, even this time I met delightful girls and had a good time with them.

For that day I chose a 1940s outfit (no pettycoat for me!), as a matter of fact, and I've alredy written in a previous post, I like the 1950s but I totally adore the 1940s: I simply feel the 40s more near to my personality as the style of this decade suits my taste.

Oggi torno a parlavi di conccorso a tema pin up/vintage, il “Miss Motorcity 2016” a cui ho partecipato di recente. Ve l'avevo detto che ci avrei preso gusto! Inoltre, anche questa è stata un'occasione per incontrare delle ragazze deliziose e per divertirsi con loro.

Per quel giorno ho scelto un look anni 40 (niente crinolina per me!), infatti, come ho già scritto in uno dei miei post precedenti, mi piacciono gli anni 50 ma ho un adorazione totale per gli anni 40: semplicemente sento che gli anni 40 sono più affini alla mia personalità in quanto lo stile di questi anni è più vicino al mio gusto.

Miss "Hangover" Pin Up 2016

Today I'm going to tell you about a particular event I joined: a Pin Up contest organized by my absolutely favourite vintage and repro shop in Milan, "Hangover"!
I had never entered a competition of this kind before, and this one has been a very beautiful experience. It's quite likely that I'll do it again!

Oggi vi voglio raccontare di un evento particolare a cui ho avuto la fortuna di partecipare, un contest per pin up organizzato dal mio negozio di vestiti vintage e riproduzioni preferito a Milano, Hangover!
Non avevo mai partecipato a nessun contest di questo tipo prima d'ora, e devo dire che è stata proprio una bella esperienza. Quasi quasi potrei farlo ancora!

Last days in Prague and...wedding day!

The last two days we took it easy moving around the city and better enjoying the atmosphere. I chose to wear the stunning Susan Dress by Aida Zak, bought some time ago on the eshop of
Collectif clothing. It's a yellow cotton pencil dress with sweatheart neckline and white hems liket he buttons.

Gli ultimi due giorni ce la siamo presi un po' più comoda, abbiamo girato la città godendoci al meglio la sua atmosfera. Ho scelto di indossare questo bellissimo “Susan Dress” di Aida Zak , comprato qualche tempo prima di partire sull'eshop del marchio Collectif.   E' un vestito a matita in cotone giallo con scollo a cuore e rifiniture bianche richiamate dai bottoni.
